The Book of Proverbs in the Holy Bible instructs us to: " Buy the truth, and sell it not " (Proverbs 23:23 ). This means that we place a value on something (consider it valuable) and then purchase it when it is made available to us. In the case of teaching Truth, an instructor teaches you a truth and if you receive it and value it, then you pay for it as you would pay for any item you want to buy such as a hamburger from McDonalds or a cup of coffee from Starbucks. The bucks you pay for the purchase of the item is your responsibility and your expression of value. In relation to providing the Truth, there is a cost incurred by the instructor in providing it freely, and a value received to the person instructed who receives a benefit in the form of enlightenment (priceless)! Perhaps this is why we should not set a price on the Truth. It is left up to the recipient to place a value on the teaching received.

The Bible also instructs us to " Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6:6-7). In other words, if you have so been taught, then share materially with the one that taught you (in all good things meaning money which is the accepted medium of exchange). This is the true formula for giving.

When you contribute to sharing God's Truth with others you are " shipping worth " that is the definition of " worship ", the contraction of the two terms. You are engaging in an activity that transfers worth or value to someone else. In the case of worshipping God, you are recognizing His value to you and sending Him back a testimonial of His Worth. By sharing with the one that taught you the Word of God that is the Truth, you are sowing seeds that will produce a reward that will come back to you many times over in the form of blessings and material blessings at that. For the same Truth you are buying with your donation or gift to your instructor will return to you multiplied in benefits as a return on your investment. This is a Universal law of cause and effect and a sure promise from God that you can't afford to pass up! (" Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it ") Malachi 3:10.

So you see if you contribute to filling the storehouse of God with food for thought that can then be shared with others in the form of God's Word which is Truth, then God's word will not return to Him void and He will bless you in return for your act of faith.

"The Tithe is the Lord's" (Leviticus 27:30). It is not ours. The earth belongs to the Lord and so do we. He doesn't need our money. He owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10). What He wants is for us to return just 10% of the 100% that belongs to Him in the first place and He will use it to provide for all of us including those in need.

This is a good deal to say the least! He has promised to bless the 90% if we recognize His ownership by giving back to Him just a small portion of what is already His!
